In questo saggio è ricostruita la posizione di Giovanni di Napoli sul principio di individuazione, situata in due Questioni quodlibetali, con un’attenzione particolare per le fonti da lui utilizzate. Sono prese in esame tre fonti suggerite da P. T. Stella in un saggio del 1951, delle quali è valutata l’attendibilità, e viene infine proposto un confronto tra la posizione di Giovanni e quella di Roberto di Orford nel Correctorium corruptorii. Sciendum, indicando la letteratura dei Correctoria come probabile fonte primaria.

In this essay we examine John of Naples’ position on the principle of individuation by analyzing his solution of two Quodlibetal Questions, and discuss John’s potential sources. First we evaluate the sources proposed by P. T. Stella in a study of 1951, and then compare John’s position with that of Robert of Orford in his Correctorium corruptorii. Sciendum. This work, and more generally the tradition of the Correctoria, seems to be John’s primary source on the issue of individuation.
